Jil Sander’s Creative Directors, Lucie and Luke Meier, have recently supported Elevation 1049, an outstanding art project curated every two years by Maja Hoffmann (Luma Foundation), Olympia Scarry, and Neville Wakefield. It took place from 3-5 February 2023 in and around Gstaad, and outside in the Saanenland, in Switzerland - a place the Meiers hold dear. The essence of a nature complete in itself, untouched and, we wish, untouchable. A place where human presence can only be conceived according to a deep understanding of nature. Elevation 1049 (the geological coordinates of Gstaad) displays site-specific performances and installations by international artists with the aim to revive dialogues between the global creative community and the region. This year’s edition, involved artists Silvia Agosti, Tarek Atoui, Serge Attukwei Clottey, Simon Beck, Salomé Chatriot, Mimosa Echard, Fabrice Gygi, Ernesto Neto, Jon Rafman, Michele Rizzo, and Michael Wang.
