British artist-photographer Jack Davison was invited to capture the essence of Jil Sander's Spring/Summer 2024 collection against the neat, sculptural light of Tenerife in Spain’s Canary Islands. The ensuing volume emphasizes the collection's pure forms amidst the graphic architecture of the environment, evoking a cityscape. Through chiaroscuro, Davison highlights Lucie and Luke Meier’s approach to fashion, blending traditional gender archetypes and merging various elements with not a hint of nostalgia. His cinematic photography imbues movements, bodies, and faces with a rhythmic quality, transforming them into still-lives. The interplay of colours and solid backgrounds overturns the ordinary, elevating it.
